Got a weekend? Get organized.

By: Estelle Gee - November 23rd, 2006

The best way to overcome the feeling of having a houseful of unfinished projects is to schedule a few weekends and actually finish them!
Here’s a list of projects you can quickly tackle (with a bit of help from friends or family)

• Get it fixed

Take clothes to the seamstress, small appliances to repair shop, jewellery to be reset or redesigned.

• Read it

Go through your stacks of old magazines. Pass books on to a college book sale. File the articles you clipped months ago. Read the books you’ve set aside for a rainy day.

• Get crafty

Indulge in a craft or art project. Start or complete it so that you can actually enjoy it.

• Clear it out

Sort one area that needs your attention. Not the whole garage, just one wall. Tackle the other areas on subsequent weekends. Consistent efforts are more important than trying to do it all at once.

HOT TIP

Rubbermaid has some great organizational products.
Our seasonal favourite is the Portable Wrap’N Craft, which keeps festive paper, bows and other goodies neat, tidy and easy to find.
